ESTHERVILLE, Iowa -- With a convincing 3-0 win over host Iowa Lakes Community College Wednesday night, the Minnesota West volleyball team secured its fifth victory of the season without a loss.
Scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 25-19.
Paetyn Smit had 11 kills, Kiana Leighty nine kills, Emma Woelber six and Tyra Medicine Horn four for the high-flying Lady Jays. Woelber also had 20 set assists. Leighty added 19 digs and Grace Woelber added 14.
West won four games last weekend in St. Cloud. The Jays have yet to play a home match.
"I think it's an all-around effort from everybody," said head coach Brittney McNab about the team's hot start.
All phases of volleyball, from net play to back row play -- and bench play, too -- has been clicking for the Worthington-based team. McNab said the on-court communication has been excellent, too.
"I think it helps that they communicate very well off the court also," said the coach.
