College basketball: Minnesota West drops a pair to AR

COON RAPIDS -- The final periods were not kind to the Minnesota West women's and men's basketball teams in road losses to Anoka-Ramsey.

The Lady Jays were outscored 25-10 in the fourth quarter in a 69-62 loss, while the Bluejays gave up 63 second-half points in a 99-95 defeat.

 

WOMEN

Minnesota West carried had a 19-13 lead after the first quarter and still led at halftime. Entering the fourth, the Lady Jays had a 52-44 advantage, but the Rams used a big fourth-quarter to hand MW its first Southern Division loss.

West (20-5, 11-1) shot just 3 of 16 in the fourth quarter, while the Rams were 11 for 15 from the field in the final 10 minutes.

Katherin Ihnen had 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead Minnesota West, while Andrea Hinkeldey scored 18 points. Ashlynn Wabeke and Avery Van Roekel each scored seven points.

Maegan Mckernon scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds to lead AR.
